Savannah Hotel
A landmark mid-century Federal Savings Bank was carefully restored and completely reimagined as a 44-room boutique hotel. The existing building, which is predominantly concrete, has a strong presence on a corner of a historic and vibrant street in Savannah. The design of the hotel seeks to both celebrate and offset this strong form by introducing softened elements, such as curved walls and arched openings, that invite the public and guests to the hotel to discover a series of delightful, warm and lush spaces within.
The design of the public amenity and private guest spaces of the hotel takes inspiration from the existing terrazzo patterned floors, vibrant blue mosaic tile clad columns, and mid-century wood paneling and metal accents throughout, all of which are preserved throughout The reception, lobby bar, lower level bar, mezzanine lounge, and upper pool deck spaces celebrate texture, color and pattern — inherent to Savannah in general — and offer a diverse range of spaces for guests and the public to engage with. Guest suites are warm and inviting, with accents of natural rich woods, terrazzo, stone and textiles.
