Harbor House

This vacation residence is located on a very narrow site running parallel to the shore of Ponobscot Bay.

Due to zoning and land preservation restrictions, the project had to maintain the previous home’s building footprint and find inventive ways to arrive at a design that would offer views to the water from the primary spaces and bedrooms, as well as accommodate multiple generations and family gatherings. Large dormers punctuate the large gable roof to frame views of the water beyond. These large dormers conceptually form a cube interlocking with the primary gable form.

The exterior materials of the residence include cedar shake siding and standing seam metal roofs. The interior of the residence is accented by white bead board cladding and warm wood floors.
