Artkive
AAmp was commissioned to design a new archival studio space to house the Artkive company’s quickly growing needs. Within their new studio, Artkive offers services to organize, document and preserve kids’ artwork and craft projects. It then produces a photo book or keepsake to be shared by family members.
Located in a large warehouse space, AAmp took on the challenge of activating and brightening the space with exuberant color, material and texture to reflect Artkives’s exuberant approach, and the imaginative artwork that they document and archive on a daily basis.
The overall space is divided into distinct zones for working, photographing, shipping, storing and socializing. Each area is treated with playful pops of color inspired by the children’s art they archive. A large multi-color mural spans the back wall of the studio. This super graphic at the scale of the building, serves to unite these distinct zones while also activating and enlivening the overall space.
